Greetings and welcome to the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Delta Beta Zeta Chapter website. On behalf of the officers and members of Delta Beta Zeta Chapter, I extend my warmest greetings and hope you will find helpful information about our great sorority and chapter. We have a rich history of serving the Queens community for over 66 years and invite you to explore that history and our great organization through the various links on the site.
On May 25, 1957, Thirteen dynamic women-chartered Delta Beta Zeta Chapter to service Queens County. We are a group of professional women with various passions that we use to guide our chapter's focus on Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood. We have been committed to community service to programs that foster engagement with community partners and stakeholders who serve children, families, elders, and the environment. We continue to fulfill the national mandates of our illustrious sorority to Get Engaged through social action to address issues that affect our local and national communities and Zetas Helping Other People Excel (Z-HOPE) through outreach and empowerment. We have hosted Voter Registration Drives, Storks Nest and Birth Equity Programs, Domestic Violence Programs, Elder Abuse Awareness Programs, Autism Awareness Programs, Back to school supplies giveaways, and collaborated with charity and non-profit organizations, including March of Dimes, St. Jude's, and the NAACP. Additionally, we proudly support and sponsor the efforts of our Amicae Auxiliary, Zeta Male Network, Youth Affiliates - Archonettes, Amicettes, and Pearlettes, and our undergraduate chapter Phi Phi at CUNY at York College.
My goal as chapter President is to continue to stand on the shoulders of our great founders and chapter presidents who came before me as a driving force in the Queens community to increase opportunities for vulnerable populations. I firmly believe in taking care of your community one person at a time and thinking outside the box to create positive outcomes, and I encourage our chapter members to follow that vision.
Thank you for visiting our site, and please return for updates on our programs and events!
Dr. Carol M. Grant, DBH
Chapter President
2023-2025
The Founders of Zeta, five coeds, were strong, young women who possessed a great deal of modesty, character, and pride in academic achievement. They envisioned a sorority that would directly affect positive change and chart a course of action for the 1920s and beyond. They are a worthy foundation upon which to base our illustrious Sorority.
Zetas are phenomenal women. We represent the collective power of all people when unified by a common spirit and a mission-oriented life. We reiterate the celebration of our diversity and the respect of kindred hearts. From its inception in 1920 at Howard University, Zeta women have rejected the status quo. We uphold four principles: Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love, Finer Womanhood.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. aims to foster the ideas of service, charity, scholarship, civil and cultural endeavors, sisterhood, and finer womanhood. The year 2023 marks 103 years. During this year, we celebrated with purpose our Sorority’s continued years of community-conscious and action-oriented service throughout the country and abroad!
